I’m really excited about this season in Texas. I have all these trips planned to go visit local farms and pick berries, lavender flowers, and stone fruits. Yes, Texas can be hot as heck in the summer, but there are some benefits! And hey, there’s always the pool – I’m a serious water baby, and I’m holding on to my pink surfboard with hopes of one day using it again.
I chuckled the other day because I saw someone stand-up paddle surfing in the big lake by my house. My husband and I will probably join him one day!
So imagine my excitement when I saw locally-grown peaches from Cooper Farms at my grocery store! They are smaller than the gargantuan, watery peaches you’ll find in the store sometimes, and I made some into a delicious peach cobbler and also this peach and banana smoothie. You can buy baby bananas in the store and using one will be perfect for your smoothie. This smoothie is also packed with protein, which you can easily add with Greek-style plain yogurt.
Peach and Banana Smoothie
makes one serving, about 200 ml
1/3 cup sliced peaches, skin off
1 baby banana
1/3 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
1/3 cup orange juice
Blend all ingredients together in a blender. Serve.
